Belgium Attempts to Tax Securities Accounts (Again)

With the Act of February 17, 2021, Belgium introduced a new tax on securities accounts, replacing a previous tax that was passed in 2018 and deemed unconstitutional in 2019. This tax is the latest entry in a series of (often thwarted) attempts by the Belgian government to tax wealth.
